The affected ports include Le Havre and Marseille. These are the two largest maritime gateways for container transportation in France and also serve as hubs for many railway freight services.

The trade union organization said that it will carry out four – hour strikes each day in the following days: February 6th, February 10th, February 12th, February 14th, February 18th, February 20th, and February 24th.

In addition, ports in France will also conduct 48 – hour strikes on February 26th and February 28th.
It is understood that the turnover in January decreased by 21%, and a 25% loss is expected in February 2025. According to the trade union, each day of the strike causes an economic loss of up to 40 million euros. It is predicted that more than 40% of French goods will be transshipped through European ports such as Antwerp, Rotterdam, and Genoa.
