It is a fat – soluble diazo dye that can be used to stain lipids, triglycerides, and lipoproteins.

It is widely applied to the transparent or opaque coloring of various thermoplastic plastics, such as polystyrene, ABS resin, polymethyl methacrylate resin, etc. It can also be used for the original pulp coloring of polyester fibers, as well as for coloring paints and ballpoint pen inks.
